Club Information:
The Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) is an Association
of Marketing Students. It is a co-curricular program for students
enrolled in a variety of marketing, management, entrepreneurship and
on the job programs. DECA Chapters operate in 5,000 schools across
the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, and Germany. DECA has 172,000
high school members and 14,000 collegiate members. Through DECA
activities and competitive events, students develop skills and
competence in marketing careers, leadership development, community
service and academic skills. Through DECA’s strength in business and
educational partnerships, students may be awarded scholarships to
continue their education.
Chapter activities include guest speakers, quarterly birthday
parties, and monthly breakfast meetings, District Fall Rally, State
Leadership Conference (Clearwater), Southern Region Leadership
Conference (San Antonio, Texas 2007), and the International Career
Development Conference (Orlando, Florida 2007), participate in
Homecoming activities: sponsor the Homecoming Newspaper, the school
wide Canned Food Drive and Christmas Toy Drive and the Senior Cap
and Gown pictures. We are also responsible for making the student ID
badges.
