HAINES CITY - Ta'ree Armstrong ran for 63 yards and a
touchdown and helped Auburndale build some playoff
momentum with a 34-24 win Friday night over Haines City
at Joe Stangry Stadium.
Armstrong filled in for Keeshawn Maxwell, who was held
out as a precaution, and carried 15 times to pace the
Bloodhound running game. |

"Ta'ree is a good running back," Auburndale coach Pat
Dooley said. "Tyrone Robinson ran the ball well, too. We
gave him the ball and he ran hard. A couple of kids had
an opportunity to show what they can do."
The Bloodhounds (5-5) benefited from 119 passing yards
and two touchdowns from Demarcus Davis and two
non-offensive scores - a fumble recovery for a touchdown
by Chris Holmes and a 94-yard kickoff return for a score
by Brandon Reynolds.
Dooley said playing in a Monday tiebreaker was an added
distraction the team had to fight off.
"I thought we did a good job of battling through the
short week and the excitement of being district
champions," Dooley said.
Haines City was led by Akeem Jones, who rushed 13 times
for 84 yards and two touchdowns. He was also 4-of-8
passing for 47 yards.
