Thursday 2/23 – Thank a Farmer-Dress like a Farmer Day (NO OVERALLS!) / Ag Olympics Games and Fun@ @ 2:30-4:40 on the back Practice Field by the outside basketball courts

Friday 2/24 – National Wear Blue and Gold Day /Chicken BBQ Lunch and Dinners Served! Pick up your orders at the Teacher’s Lunch Room in the Cafeteria. Lunch 10:45-12:00, or 5:00-7:00 dinner

Scholars Institute Heading to UF on 3/15

The Scholars Institute is happy to announce our final College Exploration tour of the 2016-2017 school year: The University of Florida!

We will be traveling to UF on March 15th and the cost is just $15.  If you are interested in touring the campus and learning more about what the University of Florida has to offer their Future Gators, please stop in to Guidance to pick up a registration/permission form.

If you have questions, please stop in to see Mrs. Cook or Mrs. Parada.  Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!

Indoor Guard Places 3rd

The Auburndale High School Indoor Guard placed third this past weekend in their class at their FFCC event! These students have been working hard and are consistently getting better each time they take the floor.

Their next event will be at Lake Region this Saturday at 8:50am and then University High School at 12:19pm.

Chorus Receives Accolades

Congratulations to the following students who all received a superior rating at District Vocal Solo and Ensemble:  Destiny Summerall, Rodeline Santana, Kaitlyn Dodson, Makiah Locke, Indriana Dalmont, Breionna Thompson, Victoria Bursey, Raymona Louis, Shayla Smith, Kristen Napier, Joevantae Cobb, Justin DosSantos, Junior Pierre, Benito Capetillo, Jervarse Smith, Matthew McLure, Ashley Pless, Karlie Rasor, Malorie Griesmer, Tamara Powell, Brittney Tobitt, Jenica Louis, Tyara Thrift, Shunell Brenor and Kenysha Johnson.  They will be moving on to State Vocal Solo and Ensemble in April.

Debate Team Moves On

On Saturday, February 4, AHS Debate Club representatives James Edouard and Brainard Suttles competed at the Florida Forensic League’s regional tournament. They were the only Polk County team in atteandance. We are proud to announce that the two have advanced to compete in the Novice State championships in Miami in April. They were accompanied by debate coach Mrs. White.  Go James and Brainard!

 

HOSA Helps out at Ronald McDonald House

HOSA’s (Future Health Professionals) Officers spent the day at Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg cooking and serving a taco meal and doing chores for some parents.
