HOSA’s (Future Health Professionals) Officers spent the day at Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg cooking and serving a taco meal and doing chores for some parents.

College & Career Awareness Panel Sign-Up
We to invite all Seniors to sign up to attend our College & Career Awareness Panel on Wednesday, February 8th, during 3rd period. This is an elective event for seniors who are interested in attending college next year. We will have representatives from Polk State College, Hillsborough Community College, Ridge Technical College, Warner University, and Bloodhound Alumni from the Class of 2012, Class of 2015, and Class of 2016 who are all college students.
If you are interested please sign up outside of College & Career.
Drama News!
Our Drama kids participated in the A.C.T. festival (Theatre All-County) this Saturday January 28 and earned 11 Superiors and 1 Excellent for their individual events! We brought a Musical Ensemble piece, 3 Musical Solos, 3 Monologues, 4 Duet Acting, & 2 Duet Musicals. The kids were incredible and Auburndale High School made an impressive debut at All County.

MLK Essay Contest Winners
Congratulations to Arteta Mathis and Carter Blair from Mrs. Weber’s Freshman English class – these students were chosen as winners of the district’s 16th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Essay Challenge. Arteta placed 1st in the county among 9th – 12th graders and Carter placed 3rd. A big “Hounds on Three” to these students. They are absolutely, unequivocally the best of the best!
AHS Medical Academy News
Auburndale High School and PSC dual enrollment Emergency Medical Responder students have passed the EMR national exam. One of them, Jennifer Lamothe, is now enrolled in the PSC EMT program as well. For more information click here.
