FFA Sub District Results
Congratulations goes out to our 2 FFA sub district winners!
Ryan Yates took 1st Place in Tractor Driving and will go on to compete in January at the District contest held at Warner University. Good luck Ryan! Destiny Blackmon placed 3rd in prepared public speaking!
We also had Savannah Rosales compete in the Creed speaking contest and Tyler Brannan gave his first try at extemporaneous public speaking.
A SAR (Student Aide Report), generated by completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aide) will be the only type of financial verification we accept and is now required to apply for all scholarships administered thru the PEF. It can take several weeks for a FAFSA to be processed and the subsequent SAR report issued, so students need to complete this online form ASAP to ensure they have it back in time.
College Bound Bloodhounds!
We are very excited to share that great things are continuing to happen as we prepare our students for College, Career, and Citizenship, at Auburndale Senior High School! As of this morning, we have had a total of 99 college acceptances and our scholarship offerings are already totaling $1,712,528!
Here are our latest:
This is a very big deal as it will eventually lead to possible college level classes and credit for our NJROTC program. Not to mention it is just very cool. We had five of Horace Mann’s area leaders on campus along with the community relations department from the district to present this surprise.
Debate Team results
Congratulations to the AHS Debate Team for competing in the Central Florida Debate Initiative’s tournament last night. Twenty schools competed at Olympia High School and our team was the only one to compete from our county. Our students did amazingly well, earning high points in their respective categories. Special congratulations goes to Chad Stephens and Isaiah Vega, who placed third in their category, as well as Debate Coach Mrs. Rosalie White, who was the recipient of the Coaches’ Recognition Award for the competition.
This was our first major competition of the year. We are so proud of the work these gentlemen have done!
Kyle Litchmore – Extemporaneous Speaking
James Edouard – Extemporaneous Speaking
Tanner Patterson – Original Oratory
Chad Stephens & Isaiah Vega – Public Forum Debate
Our next competition will be on Wednesday, January 17, at Liberty High School.
